I turned 34 this year. *Sigh* No, I'm not taking it that hard. I think 39 will be tough.
So why is Ray the best husband ever? Because for my 34th birthday he orchestrated a surprise for me to attend Gwen Stefani's concert on Nov. 2nd, with my favorite cousin. I have to admit my cousin is quite crafty too. I had no clue she was coming up for the concert nor to celebrate my birthday since it was a week prior.
The concert was great! I have her Sweet Escape album and honestly liked only a few of her songs. However, it's different watching it live. Gwen, the dancers, the choreography, the stage... made the entire experience so awesome. Although, I have to admit the Oakland crowd was a little subdued compared to other concerts I've been to. Probably b/c there were lots of parents there with their middle school daughters. Yah - that was a little weird but Gwen/No Doubt goes far back. I could have a 15 year old daughter. My mom did. Although at 15 I would never have gone to a concert with my mom. In fact, my fist concert was Depeche Mode when I was 15. I got home a little past midnight and mom was livid but it was soooooo worth it.
I'll post the photos as soon as my cousin sends them to me. (eh-hem - if you're reading this, sometime in this century?)
Oh, I forgot to mention Ray even had Gwen's harajuku t-shirts made for us. Unfortunately, they were too big so we didn't wear it to the concert. But I wear it around the house all the time. It reminds me more of how lucky I am than of Gwen's concert. Not b/c he gave me Gwen Stefani tickets but that he thought of giving me a great night out without the boys. Seriously, isn't Ray the best husband ever?
As you can see, I've moved my blog from Yahoo 360 to Vox. Funny how moving your blog feels like moving your home which I've done a few times this year. Trying to organize and export my old posts into my new blog felt just as tedious as boxing up my old home. Once I arrived at the this new blog, I had to spend time decorating, picking color palettes, designing the layout and getting familiar with the new surroundings. Anyhoo, unfortunately, I wasn't able to export everything from 360. Vox seems to transfer only about 10 of my posts from 360. Just like the boxes we lost during the move. Oh, why did I move? I heard 360 will be shutting down soon. Secondly, I liked the look and usability of Vox. Why did I move from LA back to the Bay Area? Wouldn't you? It's good to be back.
Now that Tyler is almost four, I'm really starting to get *wind* of what raising two boys will be like. Tyler and I were browsing old baby videos of him we posted on YouTube when under the related section he recognized his name in a video entitled, "Tyler farting on Ralph". Of course he wanted to see it and needless to say, he thought it was a riot. Thanks to YouTube's handy related video section, the fart videos snowballed from there. You won't believe how many videos there are of boys lighting their farts on fire. Yes, thanks to my little boy, I spent a good 10 minutes watching every variation of boys and grown men lighting their farts. What really killed me is when Ray came around I expressed my disbelief and in response he sincerely asked, "You've never lit your fart before?" Boys!
